Atlantic Health, a major health system in New Jersey, USA, has announced a major partnership with health tech developer K Health to launch an artificial intelligence (AI) platform expanding healthcare access for local residents.
The core of this launch features two main tools: Atlantic Health PatientGPT, a clinical AI tool integrated with the MyChart electronic health record system, and a Virtual Primary Care service.
PatientGPT is designed to let patients type in questions about their health or symptoms. Instead of general internet searches, the AI pulls from the patient's personal health history in the system to analyze and deliver personalized answers. Additionally, the system can connect patients and allow them to instantly book appointments with real doctors if their condition requires professional medical care.
The project has currently entered its beta phase, with plans to gradually expand coverage across the state of New Jersey in the coming months.
