Communications provider RingCentral reveals a case study on adopting OpenAI technologies for software development and internal operations.
OpenAI and RingCentral have published a case study detailing the deployment of enterprise AI tools ChatGPT Work and OpenAI Codex across the entire company, spanning from engineering teams to operations (Ops / PMO).
Within the engineering team, RingCentral launched an internal campaign called the AI-Native Challenge to encourage both technical and operational staff to use AI to build end-to-end software projects, with OpenAI Codex acting as a co-pilot for coding to accelerate the development of the company's AI products such as RingCentral AI Receptionist (AIR), AI Virtual Assistant (AVA), and AI Conversation Expert (ACE).
Meanwhile, the Project Management Office (PMO) has utilized ChatGPT Work to automatically extract data from various platforms such as Jira, Google Sheets, and CRM systems to generate status reports, establish release governance systems, and manage internal knowledge, replacing manual record-keeping.
This partnership and tool utilization are part of a strategic collaboration between RingCentral and OpenAI, as reported by tech news outlets UC Today and IT Brief UK, emphasizing the use of AI models to elevate communication infrastructure and internal workflows. Data usage and conversation processing remain under RingCentral's security governance and are not used to train OpenAI's public models.
