Twitch lets streamers opt out of having content used to train Amazon's AI
Streamers on Twitch can now opt out of having their content used to train Amazon's Generative AI, but must manually disable the setting.
Streaming platform Twitch has introduced a new feature allowing streamers to opt out of having their channel data and content used to train Generative AI models by parent company Amazon. This covers live streams, VODs, clips, chat messages, as well as images and text on channel pages.
However, the system is enabled by default (opt-in), meaning streamers who wish to opt out must manually disable it in their Security and Privacy settings. This opt-out does not cover core AI systems used for platform operations, such as automated captions or community safety features like AutoMod. Meanwhile, chat messages typed in other people's channels will be governed by that specific channel owner's settings.
This highlights privacy rights for creators and streamers in Thailand and globally, who must actively check platform default settings to prevent their work or personal data from being used for AI development without their knowledge.
