However, Tidal will not entirely ban such music but will clearly label these tracks to inform listeners that they are listening to AI-generated works. This policy of no royalties and labeling will officially take effect from July 15, 2026. Tidal's reason is to prioritize royalty payments reaching human artists and creators directly. Additionally, the platform states it will remove AI music that misleads listeners or imitates the names and works of existing artists. This move marks the first time a major music streaming platform has announced a clear stance and approach to managing AI-generated music amidst the rapid growth of this technology in the music industry.
