iOS 27 beta now allows adjustment of Siri's voice 'speed' and 'expressiveness'
Apple has released the latest iOS 27 beta update, enabling users to customize Siri's voice speed and tone for the first time via sliders in the settings.
Testers of the latest iOS 27 beta (beta 3) can now customize the voice of the intelligent assistant Siri more finely than before. Apple has added two new controls in Siri's voice settings: sliders for adjusting Pace (speaking speed) and Expressivity (emotion/tone of voice). This allows users to choose a voice that sounds most natural and pleasing to them. This feature has been confirmed by several leading tech news sources, including information on Apple's official website stating, "Choose a voice, then adjust the emotion and speed until it's right for you." While previously only a non-functional preview in beta 2, users can now actually make these adjustments. However, this advanced Siri voice customization capability is limited to new devices using the A19 Pro chip, such as iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone Air. This is due to the processing power required by on-device AI models and a minimum of 12GB RAM, according to foreign media reports.
This customization makes Siri, a voice assistant widely used by many Thais, sound more natural and better cater to individual preferences, making interactions with technology feel less rigid.
