PlugThis Unveils AI for Chrome Extension Creation: Just Type, No Code Needed

The new AI tool converts plain language commands into functional Chrome browser extensions in less than 3 minutes.

Creating extensions for Google Chrome browsers may no longer be out of reach for the average person. PlugThis, a new platform, has launched an AI-powered tool that allows users to easily create their own extensions simply by typing what they want in plain language, without any coding knowledge. PlugThis's official website states that the process of converting commands into code takes approximately 60–90 seconds, plus about 20 seconds for installation into Chrome. This means users can have a ready-to-use extension in a total of less than three minutes. A key technical highlight is that the AI-generated code adheres to the latest Manifest v3 standard, which is the current requirement for the Chrome Web Store. The old standard (Manifest v2) was deprecated in 2024, ensuring that extensions created with PlugThis can be used and published normally. PlugThis launched on Product Hunt, a platform for new tech products, offering promotions for early adopters. However, most of the information currently comes directly from the developer's website, and mainstream tech media coverage has not yet been found, which is typical for newly launched tools.
