Claude Cowork Expands to Mobile and Web, Works Offline

Anthropic, the AI model developer, has announced the expansion of its Claude Cowork service from desktop-only to web and mobile platforms. The beta version is gradually rolling out for select paid plan users, starting with Max subscribers on July 7th. This update enables Claude Cowork, a tool for complex tasks, to work seamlessly across devices. Users can initiate data analysis tasks on a computer, then check progress or receive mobile notifications when the AI requires human input, and retrieve completed work from any device. A key highlight is that Cowork can run autonomously in the background on the cloud, even if the user shuts down their computer or loses internet connection, fundamentally changing how users interact with AI. Additionally, Anthropic plans to integrate chat and Cowork features and has temporarily doubled Cowork usage quotas until August 5th.

Why it matters
This expansion fundamentally changes how we interact with AI, moving beyond constant screen monitoring to initiating tasks and letting AI work autonomously in the background, truly becoming a proactive assistant.
